The Works
The Works is the UK’s leading value retailer of Gifts, Art Materials, Craft Materials, Hobbies, Stationery, Toys and Books, trading from over 375 stores across the UK and Ireland. Their long term plan was to create a single DC to control their own logistics set-up and deliver a flexible infrastructure that could look after their business’ interests for the next 4-5 years. They identified a 170,000 sq ft speculative build warehouse, where they were able to influence some of the planning detail in advance, ensuring their needs were met.
When it came to considering a storage solution, The Works required a single supplier who was prepared to take on a turnkey project – the main purpose being to create a simplified reporting and quality control to make the project more manageable.
