Ninewells Hospital
Ninewells Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe, based on the western edge of Dundee, Scotland.
In September 2010, a fire broke out in the central female nurses’ changing rooms. The blaze consumed carousels full of uniforms and was contained in the immediate, but fairly expansive, surrounds of the nurses' changing area. Over 1,500 nurses' personal lockers and 600 shared uniform lockers were destroyed in the fire. LinkLockers was tasked to provide a temporary storage solution for the hospital’s 12,000 nurses’ uniforms, while a total refurbishment of the gutted nurses’ changing rooms got underway. To facilitate this, LinkLockers supplied hundreds of lockers to accommodate alternative uniform arrangements.
