Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking
Challenge: Maximise pallet storage capacity
Knights of Old, a leading UK logistics company, faced inefficiencies due to using third-party warehousing across multiple sites. To centralise operations and streamline management, they secured a 6,500 sqm facility near their Kettering headquarters. The goal was to maximise pallet storage capacity while maintaining operational flexibility for their 24/5 logistics services.
Approach: Tailored narrow aisle pallet racking
Whittan, through its Link51 brand, provided a tailored narrow aisle pallet racking solution to meet Knights of Old’s needs. The racking design delivered 6,085 pallet locations, allowing space for a marshalling area, bulk storage, and FLT transfer tunnels. Anti-collapse netting was installed for safety along the bulk storage zone, ensuring protection for warehouse operatives.
Solution: Maximised warehouse capacity & improved efficiency
The narrow aisle racking system successfully centralised stock, maximised warehouse capacity, and improved operational efficiency. Despite a tight timeline, the installation was completed one week ahead of schedule, showcasing Whittan's expertise in delivering flexible and high-performing solutions.
Client Testimonial:
“From the outset, I was impressed with Link51's understanding of our requirement and how they transferred that into a workable solution. We were on a very tight schedule, and the installation team managed to complete the job with a week in hand. Would I recommend Link51 and use them again... most certainly.”
