Durham Box, a leading independent corrugated packaging manufacturer, faced challenges in managing finished goods stock for over 450 customers. Their block-stacking method caused stock damage, inefficiencies, and double handling. Additionally, off-site storage increased costs and logistical complexities. To address these issues, Durham Box decided to extend their premises and centralise storage within a new warehouse.

The Solution: High-Density Mobile Pallet Storage

Link51 proposed a high-density mobile pallet racking system tailored to Durham Box's needs. The system features 13 mobile bases (19m long) and static racking at both ends, offering 2,100 pallet locations. Custom-designed frame heights maximised the use of available space under the eaves.

• Customisable Storage: Wood slat decking allows for various pallet sizes.

To build confidence, Durham Box visited a similar installation at the British Geological Survey in Nottingham.
